The reaction

The majority of Eagles are not overly excited about being photographed, not that they know exactly why we are pointing the big eye at them. This eagle is about to make an evasive manoeuvre to the right away from the camera the top wing is folded back starting the turn. I'm not sure if this is a general reaction amongst Eagles or if it is from being shot at, sad if that is the case it does happen on Vancouver Is and the lower mainland.

Hanging in the wind.

The male is bring a fish to the nest while the female incubates two eggs, they would change every 2-4 hours. What we didn't know at the time was one of the chicks had hatched, we were moments away from seeing it for the first time.

Snacks for the kids.

Bait balls are a great source of food for many species.

Immature Eagle

A large female three year old immature Eagle my husband and friends named Charlie, she liked to keep an eye on them while they were fly fishing.

I saw the Eagles move in closer when the Sea Lions were breaking up fish, the Eagles were hoping for a quick meal.

Forest Eagle

I found this Eagle alone in the forest no idea what had attracted it there didn't seem to be a food source. Maybe when they need some alone time that is what they do. Remember you are never as connected as you are in the forest :)

We didn't seem to have any impact on the Northern Hawk Owl as it hunted for critters in the bush below.

It soars high over a snow covered Mt Washington.
