The Sea Lion did not seem very agressive I am sure it could have had the a Loon lunch, lucky for the Loon.

The Loon is just starting the transition to breeding plumage by April it will be sporting its beautiful breeding black and white.

Spring Magic

On the road at o'dark thirty (May 14/22) heading for the next leg of our journey through BC's interior. Along the way we discovered a small lake with a pair of Common Loons. While we were setting up our cameras what had been light snow turned into a snow squal. The snow could make or break the shot depending on how clear I could capture the Loon's face. I am pleased with the results.
