Pygmy in light rain.
Northern Pygmy Owl
At this poin the polite thing to do was introduce ourselves
The routine was a little upward wing stretch, tail fan, neck rotation, finishing with a full body shake and feather fluff up. Moments like this make me so very glad I am a wildlife photographer :)
Cute as a bug.
The Pygmy Owl was doing a little fluff up, shedding a few rain drops.
The Pygmy was very interested in the chipping noise Juncos make when they sound the alarm. No birds were injured during this shoot much to the Pygmy's disappointment.
The Pygmy was very interested in the clicking noise Juncos make when they sound the alarm
is what I was thinking during this shoot. I moved around, stood on stumps, rocks, got caught in thorn bushes and still it hardly paid any attention to me, not the least bit frightened.
