A Shortie and a Harrier
Both seemed to ignore their differences to share a place out of the brutal winds we had today.
Northern Harrier
Finally a beautiful sunny day after all the wind and rain we have been getting. Unfortunately most of the birds decided to take the day off, the Harrier saved the day and gave us a few passes.
The Grey Ghost
A male Northern Harrier
Harrier
On its morning hunt. An interesting thing I learn about hawks is they actually see urine trails that rodents make which aids in locating their prey.
Northern Harrier juvenile female
We watched and waitied for this female to fly with in camera range, she ignored us for what seemed like hours. It wasn't until we started to chat with someone that she flew right by us.
It gave us a quick glance as it soared by the background is a very black cloud that moved thru the area.
Coming in for more of the rabbit dinner.
Mealtime
The rabbit was hit by a car, the Harrier was first on the scene.
Northern Harrier, juvenile male
