Peregrine Falcon

Captured doing a little fluff up, taken yesterday with my new camera and lens. I switched to Nikon's D500 with a Nikon 200-500mm telephoto lens. Other than new a learning curve I am extremely happy with the Nikon gear. This was taken using a 1.7 x teleconverter and is cropped, not perfect but not bad considering the Falcon was at a distance. Settings 800mm f/9.5 1/400 ISO320

I believe this is a Peale's.

Peregrine high speed fly by.

I was lucky enought to get focused on it before it past then pand with it as it screamed through the area hunting. These raptors are very impressive they can take on any sized bird. Later that day It did get a Canada Goose.

I tired getting behind her that worked for back glances. I was really hoping she would turn around ...nope.

We were lucky and unluck today. First I found her on an open branch but it was foggy, then as the fog cleared she selected less attractive perches which were in direct line with the sun. We did our best under the circumstances and came away with a couple keeper shots.
