Erckel's Francolin

A partridge native to East Africa introduced to Hawaii in 1957, found on most of the Hawaiian Islands. We had an exciting introduction to the Francolin when we exited our vehicle; a very tame bird tried to get in. After some screaming from my husband and myself, we managed to get the bird out of the car. We went screaming from the car down the trail with Franc on our heels, he wanted something to eat, and he wanted now. Damn those tourists that feed wildlife, lol!
