So when building up to eleven nests a year lined with feathers you need a good supply of said feathers. Location, location it is best to build these nests close to a Egret Rookery. Then a quick visit to the Rookery to sort thru the feather sizes and there you have it a comfy new home every month with a luxurious interior of soft, fresh down. If you are a smart Verdin you will build your nest in a yellow flowering bush so you are less likely to be spotted by a predator. This is most likely a female they look after the interior and the male covers the exterior of the nest. Sound familiar?
