Who is going to tell her to rinse off? : ) The foam is caused by high amounts of decomposing organic plant matter this makes the water in a stream brown. A healthy ecosystem upstream like a bog or fen produces the large amount of decaying organics.. Foam is produced as air, introduced in the turbulence of stream riffles, below waterfalls bubbles to the water surface.
