On their way north a small flock dropped in for a rest and recharge last evening near Porty Hardy, BC.
A snow/hail/rain storm had moved through minutes before I made this photo. The sun was setting behind scatterd storm clouds which provided rather nice light. The raw weather didn't phased the Pygmy Owl's hunt for an evening snack.
We were out last night and saw this bear very close to the road. Our experience with the roadside bears is they run within the first minute. For whatever reason this bear continued to eat. The sun had gone down the light was low so I used ISO 25600, crazy but it workes when you don't crop in more than a wee bit.. From the comfort of the car I managed to get a tight shot.
