He was thrashing and rolling kicking up dirt and dust.

Wood Bison Dust Bath

The largest of the herd walked over to a cut in the hill and put on a show. It was incredible to see this monster (upward of 2000lbs) Bison throw the dirt around. From our Alaska roadtrip.

Muskox

Blending in with the tundra. We were surprised to see the Muskox scattered rather than grouped, the most we have seen together is 3.

Spiral Breach

An agitated Humpback, Ripple responds to another Humpback Whale in its immediate area. This whale was really stirring up the waters in Blackfish Sound.

About to slam the top half of its body on the water.

Agressive behaviour from Ripple

Another Humpback in the area was ticking this big guy off. The whale came up for air and made a loud squealing noise before it slammed down.

Tail Slapping

I'm sure with the multiple tail slaps and breaches this Humpback got its point across, the other whale departed.

Mom and the Cubs

My friend Anthony and I have been trying to get photos of this little family for a while now. Finally, the opportunity was coming together, we found them, we were upwind, we had good light and Mom and the cubs were headed our way. Just as they got in range of a decent photo the sun poked out and caused heat shimmer with less than desirable lighting. The wind changed direction, she picked up our scent, and they were gone. It doesn't always come together easy, we will try again another day.
