Curious Kit
We found the kits were very interested in boaters whereas the Moms not so much. The kits would struggle to see us sometimes squealing at Mom.
Curly
This was the bear that walked up and licked the front bumper of my friend Anthony's SUV... that was a moment :) He is quite the beast one of the largest bears I have encountered. He looks very comfortable not at all disturbed or frightened. What has a bear this size have to be frightened about? I'd say top of the food chain.
Monster Bear
When the Bears have an unlimited food source they eat a lot, the Bears from this area eat salmon doubleful they will go into hibernation now though I would say they are ready for it.
Dressed for dinner.
On the way to its next meal this healthly looking Bear took time to check us out.
She Who Rules with her three cubs.
I was over the moon when I saw SWR with 3 cubs this year, what an unexpected treat to she her so healthy with a family. I'm guessig two male and a female cubs but who knows.
Trump's cubs
I couldn't have been more surprised to see Trump, whom I thought was a male, had two darling cubs this year...not a male after all it seems :)
SWR's Cubs
Her little darlings are very well behaved which is very important for their survival, if Mom gives a series of low repetitive grunts it is time to hit the bush running.
Two of the three wet little Boos.
Discovering Georgina's favourite rock.
SWR and Cubs
This made my summer seeing SWR thriving.
Stare Bear
That is what I named it Stare Bear a young bear that really didn't know what to make of us. I'm not sure if I can identify it from previous years or not, if I do discover whos cub it is I will post an update.
Georgina
The Queen of the area until Trump and SWR have their none cub bearing years then look out Georgina some real muscle power is moving in.
Junior drops in.
An immature Bald Eagle finds a possible meal as it approaches the tital area.
Sea Otter
From the first of three trips I did with Sea Otters this past summer.
Wrapped in kelp.
When resting the Sea Otters will wrap themselves in anchoured or rooted kelp to prevent them floating away.
Fuzzball
A young baby resting on Mom's tummy, it didn't wake up for more than a minute or two.
I wanna see!
Mother Otter decides to move junior to a safer place and junior wants to see what we look like, too cute.
Why Fluffy got that name.
He has very long thick fur as if he never shed his winter coat.
