The end of a slow day.

While watching a Cooper's Hawk over a stream movement caught my eye and there a River Otter was making a meal out of a spent salmon. This was the end of the day in low light my new camera managed to catch it all.

Dinner was floating downstream kind of like home delivery for the Otter. In a 10 min period, it ate a good pound or more.

of today was full of photo ops I first found this male Eagle I have had the pleasure of photographing before, he likes this perch and doesn't seem to mind the camera. From there I found a Cooper's Hawk over a small stream, movement caught my eye and there was a River Otter on the edge of the stream.

    Juvenile Eagle

There was two that fledged from a nearby nest, this juv liked to spend time on the ground checking out everything from seaweed to pieces of bark that it would play with. A very entertaining pair they would often fight over the same thing, the adult male had to fly in a couple times to break up the fights.

  • Immature Eagle

    Immature Eagle

We found her perched by the river in a few locations today, I would think she is is watching the riverbanks for salmon.

    Raging Creek

I am learning how to take photos without fur or feathers is a big challenge for me. Getting the colours and light correct isn't easy plus the whole composition is way out of my comfort zone. I'm taking a course this afternoon I'll see if I can improve upon this image. I used to say landscape photographer have it easy they have a static subject that doesn't move like birds or animals...still not easy :)

Those big antlers aren't just for looking handsome they also double as fantastic back scratchers.

    Wet in the woodlands.

That includes every living thing, a nasty day the forecast wasn't even close. Fun to be out we covered 10km and saw a few eagles.
