Laughing Owl
Not really she was preening :)
Snowy Owl, female
End of the Week
We have found this beautiful owl again today, what a treat it has been watching her.
She gave us nicer snow covered perches today.
She wasn't effected by other raptor flyby's, however, a Crow seemed to make her take on a defensive stance.
Roosevelt Elk
We affectionately referred to this big guy as Rope Head.
Rope Head?
He didn't seem to mind his adornment. Locals said he was ok he would shed his antlers soon.
We went back to visit this lovely Owl, she seemed to be comfortable with our sub-zero temperatures.
We found a few Elk today, this big bull was ripping at cedar trees for snack foo.
Although it was cold for us the Snowy was sitting in the sun panting, her feathers must be very thick.
Snowy Owl at golden hour.
A young child runs down the street catches Snowy's attention.
My what big feet you have my dear. She was giving herself a quick mani and paused momentarily.
Preening and a fluff up, she really is a beautiful owl.
She yawned, went thru the motions of throwing a pellet and sunned herself.
She could have flown away at any time; however, she chooses to stay between naps, garbage trucks, vehicles, and photographers.
Having a good scratch as well as a fluff up. Such a treat to watch this gorgeous owl today.
First Snowy Owl I have seen in years and it is here on Vancouver Island which is a very rare treat!
A little scratch and preen.
