It was a pleasant surprise to see this rare (for our area) bird on Vancouver Island. My husband Shane took this photo.
Snowy Egret
The male was around, but it was the female I wanted photos of. She has managed to avoid me pretty much every year. They have been returning to our yard during the warmer months for years.
