    Stare Bear

Napping while he waits for the salmon to start moving upstream.

  • Laura Croft

    Laura Croft

A three year cub of Trump's who occasionally pushed boundaries. She wandered over to us and sat in the middle of us and our bags, camera gear etc. There was no attempt to take or get into anything, she just made her self comfortable and hung out. I believe she was using us as protecton from adult bears that were containly chasing her off.

  • Trump

    Trump

We met during the summer of 2013. I admit I was nervous around her, she liked to walk up to me, and occasionally she would block the path, making my husband and I find a route around her. One morning I arrived as the tide was going out, and the rocks were slippery. I fell with my hand out in an attempt to break my fall. Barnacles sliced up the side of my hand as I lay bleeding; out walks Trump. I scrambled to right myself while she approached. She stood 20 ft away, watching with great interest but did nothing. I have to be honest I did not expect to walk away. Trump began eating grass, keeping her eyes on me as I backed away. I beetled off to find my husband for first aid and a hug :) This photo was taken in 2021.

She blocked our exit to the path, we backed up and patiently outwaited her. After a few minutes she wandered off. Perhaps it is a power play? I’m not sure if she is curious or she does it because she can. She is the bear with an agenda.

  • Spa Day

    Spa Day

Nothing like a bit of grooming and a good soak to make one feel better. Mother Nature provided the unscented seaweed wrap, river stone foot massage, sandstone exfoliating scrubs and jacuzzi without the annoying timer. Life is grand!

  • Sea Wolf

    Sea Wolf

We were driving a backroad when two wolves ran in front of the vehicle. Instead of heading for the bush, they stayed on the road for about one kilometre. This one stopped and watched us as we got out of the truck—a big crop but clearly a wolf.

    A big catch.

I watched this Kingfisher contemplate how it would get the fish down for half an hour. He did it.
