Just back a trip to the interior of BC where I was fortunate to see and photograph over 30 life species (still counting as I review my photos) 28 birds and the remainder mammals, it just proves I need to get off the Rock more often :) This has got to be one of the coolest looking birds on the planet.
This was the second day of our trip and I believe I was up to 11 life birds in 24 hours. Yes I have to get off the island more :) The Swainson's Hawk was near the top of my list, the list was 50 species long we managed to find and photograph close to thirty species. I believe my final count was 32 this also included mammals. All about birds (Cornell) has some interesting information about this hawk they migrate from Argentina in waves called Kettles.
