Vancouver Island Pygmy Owl
We were up at 2000ft this morning checking locations for tonight's astrophotography. We found the Pygmy in the cloud/fog which wasn't the best photo opportunity but still fun to see.

On the beach at Cluxewe. I saw a few peeps along the way but nothing very exciting there this time.

Bigfoot chowing down interesting he has changed his preference to clover rather than grasses. My 500mm lens is overkill I have to remember to take a telephoto next trip out.

It appeared to be spring loaded. The Jay was attempting to push the Pygmy Owl away from its area.

A new Bear.
This Bear was in the area we found Bigfoot, a larger bear wonder if it pushed Bigfoot out?
When the Rock Crab bites back.
Out boating with my friend Anthony today we found a few Bears in the intertidal zone munching on whatever they could find under rocks. Have you ever watched a bear move a hundred pound rock? They do it with such ease you would be amazed.
A little bear drama.
He was watching another bear approaching shortly after I took this photo the chase was on, he wasn't sharing his intertidal zone.
Crab control or lack of it.
Rather humourous to watch a black bear catch and wrestle with small Rock Crabs the crabs don't give up easily. As big as the bears are they do not like getting pinched in the mouth.

We searched for Bears yesterday from my friend's boat, found four cooperative Black Bears.
