Merganser juvenile female
Riding the river current on an unusally warm November day.
Meganser's Cheshire Grin

Northern Harrier juvenile female
We watched and waitied for this female to fly with in camera range, she ignored us for what seemed like hours. It wasn't until we started to chat with someone that she flew right by us.
Harbour Seal
Up the river chasing salmon.
This seal is trying to figure out why a bush is holding a camera, got to love a gilly suit (extreme camo).. The seal can be so spooky you just have to go to greater lenghts to catch them.
California Sea Lion
Letting a big breath out as it dives for salmon in the current.
It just gets crazy from here.
Once the Seal Lion catches salmon instead of biting into it the seal lion swings its head violently until it rips the salmon apart. It is a whole lot of splashing and slamming water a crazy thing to witness.
The Spectacle
A California Sea Lion goes to town on a salmon.
Red-tailed Hawk juvenile
It tolerated me for a good 60 seconds, gotta love the juvs.
Red-tailed Hawk adult

Spotted Towhee on a Crabapple Tree
This tree was growing wild in marshland, full of song birds.
Roosevelt Elk
An exciting few minutes when this bull decided to head in our direction, he was looking for greenery not trouble. I'm going back with a much smaller lens.
