From what I understand, the howling was done by the Alpha male to calm the pack. Pack members howled back as they worked their way through the forest. I have no idea why the Wolves let us stand before them for as long as they did. My head was swaying, watching the pack move around until they dispersed.
Alpha engages the body into a full howl.
