  • Friendly?

    Friendly?

As the Pectoral Sandpiper walked down the beach in our direction it let out a peep like it was questioning us, are you friend or foe? We, of course, didn't respond it paused for a moment then continued towards us. Colours, bokeh etc compliments of Nikon and the setting sun, not photoshop, I'm loving my D850 with the Nikkor 200-500mm.

A bit bewildered by the cameras amongst its food, the Pectoral walked up to us then around us and carried on down the beach. A life bird for me :)

The ducks are slowly working their way back from the north, seeing lots of geese transiting through and our Trumpeter Swans are returning which adds beauty to our waters and skies.

The neck is elongated while having a serious look at something over the water could have been the pair of Eagles that were hunting as the sun was setting. More of this shoot at www.melanieleesonphotography.com/Birds-of-British-Columbi...

This is from last fall when the Greater White-fronted Geese moved through our area during their migration south. The goose is a juvenile lacking the white front patch behind the bill.
