About the size of a softball when it settles into a ball shape. This little darling can take down prey larger than itself... tiny killers.
As the Pygmy Owl was hunting it moved from tree top to tree top near the summit of a hill which worked out very well as we could shoot almost 360 degrees. standing at the top. My shutter speed was 1/3200 sec and still the top of the wing is a bit blurry, just shows how quickly they move.
Occasionally I catch these staredowns from the Owl that make me so glad it is tiny :)
