B&W
Trying something new.
Spark
Curiosity brought the cub over to have a closer look at me. Mom was busy chasing fish nearby.
Getting impatient waiting for Mom.
In Tight
She washed down the fish with river water then began the search for another fish. I was so pleased she looked back at us.
Coastal Brown Bear, female
She dragged a fish up to the forest to eat alone, there was another Brown Bear in the vicinity. I guess she was wondering why we were watching her.
Bear Hug
Hugging a spawned out Salmon. Yup, you know what's next.
Big, Bold and Beautiful
She came from the forest right behind us as we approached the river. We moved out of the way quickly and quietly. The river is full of fish. She had no issues with us. Lots more photos to come later today.
Coastal Brown Bear
We spent a fantastic day on the west coast of BC photographing these beautiful full-bodied bears.
Grumpy
He is a very mild mannered Bear until there is food involved, then look out.
Columbia Black-tail Deer
A Spike watching a couple bucks engage during rut.
Dressed for success.
We found this little guy with Mom on the way back to camp. It was taken well after sunset using very high ISO. Look at that perfect tie; what a cutie!
Bull Rossevelt Elk
He is a healthy bull. The points on his antlers rate him as a 6/7.
Roosevelt family
The little guy was quite interested in us.
Bull Elk in Rut
Showing interest in a female.
Roosevelt Bull and Cow
He had a small harem of 6 or 7 females with their young.
Roosevelt Elk
What could be better than finding a large bull Elk during rut season? Finding one at sunset :)
Turmoil
Waves smashing into rocks.
