    Braveheart

When the fight started between Georgina and Grumpy all the bears in the area scattered. Braveheart a two year old cub of Trump's looked for safety amoungst us he was a few feet away from my friends Anthony and Kevan. He stayed until things settled down then wandered off. I do find it interesting that bears view us as safe or safer than other bears.

Hey! Can I hang out with you guys?

Ya I know we should be yelling at this two year old, scaring it away. It was frightened by a major bear fight and ran to us for safety. A tough decision to add even more to its drama so we let it stay for a few minutes. We named him Braveheart, he has a sister we named Laura Croft :) both are Trump's cubs born early 2019.

    Georgina takes a moment.

Constantly fighting with other bears for her fishing spot. Why can't they just go away and leave her in peace? Ya that won't ever happen.

    Trump

It was her year for cubs but she doesn't appear to be nursing, too bad her cubs always rock. Bravehart and Laura Croft are Trumps from 2019. Perhaps she can see that bringing cubs on to this planet is a bad thing. Who knows? We have only seen 3 cubs from miles of endless travels on the north island April-September 2021.

    Coastal Brown Bear

Our whale watching plans turned into a good day for Coastal Brown Bears. We found 4 that day from my friend's boat. This is Lenore she was with her twins, second-year cubs.

If we get lucky a sea bird will surface near the boat.

Johnstone Straight was filled with these sea birds during August and September, literally thousand so f them.

    Circling back.

There was another bear on the beach coming behind this one. This bear circled back by taking a higher route then surprised the other bear by popping out above.

Crab control or lack of it.

Rather humourous to watch a black bear catch and wrestle with small Rock Crabs the crabs don't give up easily. As big as the bears are they do not like getting pinched in the mouth.
